SUMMARY:
Client in the TRANSPORT INDUSTRY requires the services of an Accountant at their plant in the Tshwane area as soon as possible

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The successful professional will be responsible for the full Accountant (up to balance sheet) function and for acting as the 2IC to the Financial Manager.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Minimum 3 years’ experience – in a similar role – preferably in the transport environment
Experience on SAGE 200 Evolution – preferred!

Qualifications:

BCom Accounting/ Financial Management Degree
4-5+ Years hands-on experience in financial management
Completion of articles towards SAIPA - beneficial

Key Responsibilities:

Debtors Full Function i.e. Recons, processing invoices, problem solving
Creditors Full Function i.e. Recons, processing invoices, problem solving
Banking – Capturing, reconciling and allocations
VAT recon and submission
PAYE submission
Reporting on Cashflow requirements
Reconciliation of General Ledger Accounts monthly
Ensure accurate processing of expenses to correct cost centres, GL accounts, material groups, etc.
Complete function up to Balance Sheet and trail balance
Various financial tasks for the financial team

Main characteristics:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Good team player with the ability to work independently
