JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client is looking for an Accountant to join their team.

Effective reporting to Executives, in respect of budget and
expenditure:
Reviewing of financial and operational reports and reporting
to management and Executives
Make recommendations according to trends, and statistics
Report on data as required by financial prescripts
Effective and efficient management of the procurement
sections
- Ensure the effective management of the procurement
function
(ordering, delivery, payments of goods and services)
Review and management of assets for the business.
Effective and efficient management of the Income,
Expenditure and Accounting sections
Ensure the day to day operational management of the various
departments are delivered to Standard Operating Procedures
Weekly Trade report compilation and submission to
Executives
Balance Sheet Reconciliation
Prepares VAT calculation and submissions
Review Bank recons
Cash Flow management
Prepare and submit monthly management accounts
Preparation of annual budgets
Review and manage expenses against budget
Maintain standards in accounting and reporting systems
Audit systems and integrity of data and correct application
Adhere and deliver to reporting deadlines
Assist auditors with annual audit
Analyse productivity and efficiency levels of team
Exercise control and management of the debtors
management function
Regular engagement with Cold Store Manager on operations
Ad hoc assistance in general managerial duties
Attendance of various required meetings such as
management and executive meetings
Perform relief duties for other management officials and also
within the component
Communicate with department heads in the institution
Assist with the effective management of Human resources
within component.
Ensure optimal workflow and adequate spread of workload
In service training of personnel to ensure effective execution
of duties
Manage utilisation of leave and the application of disciplinary
and grievances procedures and all labour relations functions
in the component

Key Skills

Relevant knowledge of stock management system
Knowledge of warehouse management system advantageous
Follow procedures and have a structured approach to problem-
solving.
Be organised, motivated and able to manage your time effectively
Excellent Administration Skills
Proficient Computer Skills (MS Office)
Ability to ensure excellent customer service
Excellent communication with senior management
Follows instructions well
Take ownership, be accountable and reliable
Structured approach with excellent planning, organizational and
prioritisation skills
Ability to work well under pressure
Self-motivated, targeted result and deadline driven
Writing and reporting

Qualifications

• National Diploma or BTech Degree or Bcomm Degree in Accounting
• 6-10 years’ experience within the FMCG industry (Cold Store environment advantageous)
• Valid driver’s license
• SAICA or SAIPA articles
• 5 years managerial experience within FMCG Industry
