My client, a mid-tier Accounting and Auditing firm in the Southern Suburbs, seeks an Accountant.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

My client, a mid-tier Accounting and Auditing firm in the Southern Suburbs, seeks an Accountant to join their stable team and be responsible for the accounting of a portfolio of clients

Responsibilities:

Processing receipts, sales, purchases, invoices etc.
Maintain fixed asset register
General journals and process journal entries
Debtors and creditors reconciliations
Analysis of trial balance, looking out for deviations etc.
Produce draft set of financials and notes to the financial statements
Compile monthly management accounts for clients
Identify provisions as require
Calculate tax liabilities whether individuals, sole proprietors, CC's, trusts etc.
Reconciliation of VAT to trial balance
Calculations of provisional tax
Review junior team members work, development of junior team members

Requirements

Minimum of a completed degree in accounting
Minimum of 5 years' accounting experience
MSOffice and Pastel skills
Highly numerate
Good communication skills, ideally read and write in both English and Afrikaans
Own reliable transport available for client visits when required
Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
