Our Client, an internationally recognised and leading African law firm is looking for an Accounting with a background in the legal industry to join their team.

Qualifications and Experience

Bcom Accounting

Duties and Responsibilities

Complex Profitability analysis schedules E.g. Mark up.
Billing closure – deselection of prebills
Fees Report
Rental recovery calculations
Monthly actual allocation into support service budget templates
Management Accounts: Prepare full set of management accounts and supporting schedules. Prepare month end reconciliation file. All adhoc financial reporting
YE audit
Maintain Task Based Billing Management (by matter). Ensure all new matters are correctly categorised and assigned the appropriate matter plans. Liaise with Partners to ensure budgets and trial dates are entered correctly. Action required changes on matters where anomalies exist between actual expenditure and budget e.g. unrealised actual costs, over/under spends
Monthly VAT Returns
Firm Tax Compliance I.e., residency and tax clearance certificates
Journals; Payroll journals; Confirm write-off/withholding tax and bad debt journals are correctly allocated; Month end journals; Depreciation and asset disposal journals; Audit fee journals (accrual); Review electricity accrual journals; Review prepayment/accrual control schedules and journals
Assisting in the annual budget preparation
STATSSA Reporting
Weekly Petty Cash Count and approval of reconciliations
BBBEE updating
Commissioner of Oath
