POSITION INFO:

Accounting duties (Pastel)
Payment administration (Bank Accounts)
Review all Supplier reconciliations
Accounting of long-term liabilities and related interest expenses
Accounting and tracking of deposits made by or to suppliers and tenants
Create provisions and reversals where required
Maintain Fixed Asset Register
Capitalisation of software development based upon hours worked on projects and expenses of the applicable department
General Query Resolution
Month-end levy payments
Inventory: procurement of tags and diesel etc, keeping of accounting records
GL Account maintenance
Daily bank balances tracking
Travel & expenses reimbursements
Late levy payments by markets to the TPO
Maintain and control office petty cash and e-wallet cards
Reporting
Month-end procedures
Debtors and Creditors Age verified; overdues followed up
Levy report of Freshmark compared to receipts (TPO)
Management Accounts – compile and check Month-end reports for accuracy, completeness, also the cash flow statement
Provide Month-end reports to various custodians
Preparation of month-end reconciliation file as support to month-end pack
Governance & Statutory
Maintain a list of contracts, tenure, principal values, expiry dates
VAT recorded and reconciled, also e-filing maintained monthly
SARS (Income tax) calculated and submitted as required, done on the company as well as dormant companies
Budget preparations & Pastel loading
Financial year-end audit file and reconciliation preparations
Insurance & declarations to Outsurance, Directors & Commercial Crime & renewals
COIDA Annual renewal
Financial and Fixed Asset Policy compilation & enforcement
Bank accounts access - Assist with profile set-up and maintenance
Establish sound internal controls for the business
Human Resources
Maintenance of HR documentation & administration (contracts etc.)
Leave administration
TSA (group life insurance) maintenance
Administration of the training matrix
Payroll
Salary administration (payroll) on Sage
Monthly salary payment of employees
Payslips distribution on Infoslips
Accounting for salary disbursements
SARS/PAYE/UIF/SDL administration and payments (EMP201, EMP501 etc)
Processing of ad hoc payments, bonuses, salary adjustments.
Continuous Improvements
Have an improvement and process smoothing focus and deployment.
Leadership
Performance reviews of sub-ordinates (bookkeeper, she also handles Payroll)
Review work done by delegated employees
Provide job-related training to upskill sub-ordinates
Assist and give direction to sub-ordinates
To communicate to affected persons where a problem has been detected and is being resolved
Resolve and solve a problem expediently when it is detected
Filing & Admin to be done by month-end.
Attributes Required
• B.Comm degree minimum
• Preferably doe articles at a reputable company
• Sage Payroll experience
• Pastel or related package experience
• IFRS understanding
• SAIPA registered will be an advantage
• 5 years working experience
• Handle e-filing (hands-on experience)
• Afrikaans & English fluent
• Self-starter, initiative, deadline driven, details orientated, independent
• Good communicator.
