SUMMARY:
A Manufacturing concern based in Meyerton has a vacancy for an Accountant who has worked on SAP. This is a contract position which requires the applicant to be available immediately.

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications

• Grade 12
• B.Com or Diploma in Accounting/Finance or relevant field
• Completed Honours degree /CIMA/ACA, ACCA (Advantageous)

Experience

• 2 – 3 years working in manufacturing or FMCG environment
• 3yrs / complete articles (Advantageous)
• SAP is a minimum requirement

• Prepare Management Accounts for Head Office
• Ensure that the appropriate documentation, review and actions are implemented in respect of monthly management reports
• Submission of accurate financial results on time based on Head Office sanctioned template
• Coordinated month end close and year end activities
• Streamlined processes and procedures to support reduction in month end close activities
• Prepare Cost of Sales Recon for Financial Manager Review
• Prepare Sales Recon
• Complete all balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
• Maintains financial records for subsidiary companies by analysing balance sheets and general ledger accounts
• Produce Recon from Excel and SAP
• SAP GI/IR Clearing
• Process and park journal entries for Financial Manager approval, to ensure all business transactions are recorded
• Prepare Intermill journal and file supporting documents
• Verify that amounts and accounts used are correct
• Analyse questionable transactions to determine proper accounting of income and expense.
• Corrects errors by posting adjusting journal entries
• Updating and process recurring purchase orders and purchase requisitions
• Manage contract purchase orders
• Accrue for purchase orders indicated as received but not invoiced
• Preparing Credit Card and Petrol Card transaction journals
• Credit card and petrol card reconciliations
• Maintain all necessary records to ensure that vehicles provided by the company comply with legal and business requirements
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules to ensure that they are maintained in a safe and roadworthy condition (license renewals)
• Balance Petty cash on weekly basis
• Filing of all cash payment documentation
• Preparation of the monthly petty cash journal
• Prepare petty cash recon on a monthly basis
• Review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation.
• Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets, and assist the auditors in their inquiries
• Track company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budget and management authorisations.
• Conduct periodic physical inventory counts of fixed assets
• Investigate the potential obsolescence of fixed assets
• Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed
• Review and recommended modification to accounting system and procedures
• Prepare various reports for external annual audit and served as contact for audit questions
• Provide auditors with assistance on audits
• Assist and support fellow colleagues to ensure full flow of the department is maintained, this includes activities that might not be in the role profile but  as requested by line managers
• Create and update existing works instructions for the Assistant Accountant 
• Act  as backup for Production Scheduler
• Review the reconciliation of the contractors payroll
