SUMMARY:
Umhlanga. Opportunity exists for competent Accountant with BCom Accounting Degree and 5 years post articles experience to join successful, growing professional accounting and business advisory firm. Your ability to manage staff, solve problems and think out of the box coupled with Pastel experience, own transport and drivers licence secures.

POSITION INFO:

Accountable for the full write up of accounting records on small to medium and large sized firms in a variety of industries
Review financial statements for sole trader, partnership, private companies, close corporations, and trusts and group consolidations
Review taxes payable by individuals, companies, and trusts
Manage monthly accounting clients
Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger and relating accounting records
Review cash flow information, and all balance sheet and income statement reconciliations (including creditors, debtors, bank, stock reconciliations, VAT, payroll)
Review the fixed asset register and wear and tear registers
Assist with the implementation and maintenance of internal financial controls and procedures
Manage, mentor, coach, and train staff
Monitor costs, disbursements, and overhead expenditure and make recommendations thereon
Chart out project objectives, plans and schedules, set performance requirements, and select project participants
Implement systems, policies, and procedures in regards of operations
Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and minimize exposure and risk in the project
Ensure project deadlines are met

Requirements:

BCom Accounting Degree
3 years articles complete (SAICA or SAIPA), and at least 5 years post articles experience
Excellent Microsoft Office knowledge and ability
Knowledge and experience working on Pastel and CaseWare
Valid driver’s license and own transport essential
