SUMMARY:
A leading entity based in the retail and FMCG space is currently in the market for an Accountant.

POSITION INFO:

A leading entity based in the retail and FMCG space is currently in the market for an Accountant.

Qualifications and Experience:

• BCOM
• 3 – 5 years’ experience
• FMCG or Retail industry experience (essential)
• Excel experience (advanced)

Key Responsibilities:

• Fixed asset register maintenance on biweekly basis.
• General ledger structure maintenance.
• Monthly balance sheet recons.
• Assist in the preparation of accounts for annual statutory audit.
• Monthly income statement analysis and recons.
• Monthly management reports.
• Monthly reporting to financiers.
• Monthly rebates calculations.
• Managing compliance and reporting monthly/quarterly royalty contracts.
• Liaise and support the auditors to complete the company audit.
• Monthly VAT return submission & calculations.
• Monthly statutory reports to be submitted, e.g. Stats SA.
• Releasing of local payments.
• Maintaining the General Ledger master file.
• Supervising and reviewing monthly payments, e.g. cell phones, copiers
• Income tax matters.
• Dividend tax matters.
• Troubleshoot and solve problems for any procedural accounting cycles.
• Assist financial management with the annual budgeting process.
• Assist in performing and enforcing financial controls daily as allocated.
