Accountant

SUMMARY:
The Accountant will be responsible for full‑function accounting across the business, supporting the Financial Manager and working closely with General Managers. This role suits a hands‑on, practical accountant who thrives in a fast‑paced hospitality environment and values a relaxed, people‑focused culture. The position is fully office‑based and forms part of a young, energetic finance team within the West Coast Group.

POSITION INFO:

Job Description:
You will manage day‑to‑day accounting functions, including reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and preparing and loading payments for approval. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month‑end processes, and responding to financial queries from operational managers. You will assist with payroll and VAT reconciliations where required and ensure adherence to internal financial procedures. This role requires strong collaboration with internal stakeholders while maintaining accuracy, deadlines, and financial controls in a high‑volume hospitality environment.
 
Skills & Experience:
Hospitality industry experience is advantageous
Payroll and VAT exposure an advantage
Strong understanding of accounting principles and reconciliations
Solid experience in AP and AR processes
Proficiency in Sage accounting software
Good numerical accuracy and attention to detail
Strong communication skills and confidence in liaising with stakeholders
Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, operational environment
Organised, deadline‑driven, and adaptable
Team‑oriented with a positive, down‑to‑earth attitude
 
Qualification:
NDip, BCom in Finance or Accounting
