POSITION INFO:

ACCOUNTANT

Vereeniging (MUST reside in Vaal Triangle or Alberton)

Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of all accounting systems. He/She will be responsible for the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data and revenue as well as participating in annual audits and special projects.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12
• Completed B.com degree or equivalent
• Minimum of 7 year’s experience in a similar role
• Exposure to foreign Companies will be beneficial
• Must reside in the Vaal Triangle or Alberton

 Additional Training and experience:

• Computer Literate in all Microsoft Office Packages
• Sage X3 experience will be beneficial

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: 

• Prepare Balance Sheet recons for all South African Industrial Services companies
• Review Debtors and Creditors aging''s and going through the month end process to identify any errors/issues.
• Income statement variance analysis and correction of any misallocations or imbalances
• Check supplier reconciliations monthly.
• Capitalise new assets in X3 (accounting system) and dispose assets if necessary. Run depreciation function in X3. Close off the assets for the month. Keep all invoices and references for new assets and asset disposals in the asset file.
• Liaise with the payroll department on importing Journals from VIP, review all imports for accuracy.
• Prepare and post monthly standard journals and provisions.
• Review the expense recovery reconciliation
• Update and post monthly interest calculations.
• Prepare and post the admin fee calculation
• Prepare Sundry Debtors & Creditors reconciliations of all trading companies.
• Review the stock valuation report and tie back to the accounts.
• Prepare monthly WIP journals, do WIP calculations and adjustments in X3.
• Assist in drafting the monthly management packs.
• Preparation of annual audit information and attending to annual audit queries
• Post all YE audit journals and reconcile accounts.
• Budget cycle administration and collation of budgets
• Monthly preparation and submission of VAT returns.
• Reconciliation of VAT returns and assessments and posting of VAT journals.
• Assisting in VAT audits
• Annual Tax clearance certificates.
• Assist with BBBEE compliance on all categories.
