Join a global leader in freight forwarding and take the next step in your finance career. My client is on the lookout for an experienced and driven Accountant.

As an Accountant, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting while maintaining strong internal controls. You’ll oversee essential accounting functions including balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany transactions, VAT and tax submissions, payroll postings, and fixed asset management.

You’ll collaborate closely with the Head of Finance to support month-end close, external audits, and group-level process improvements all while contributing to a culture of operational excellence and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and deliver monthly balance sheet reconciliations in line with internal control frameworks
Oversee intercompany reconciliations, resolve aged items, and ensure accurate month-end reporting
Manage VAT, tax accounting, and payroll postings
Maintain the fixed asset register and lease module
Support external and internal audit processes
Prepare annual financial statements and assist with monthly operational reports
Drive process improvement initiatives aligned with group objectives
Provide cover for the Head of Finance when required, including weekly cash forecasting

Job Experience and Skills Required:
A Degree in Accounting or Finance and a professional accountancy qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, SAIPA, or equivalent)
At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally with multi-country, multi-currency exposure
Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with ERP systems and financial dashboards
Experience with Pastel Partner Accounting System (advantageous)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
