SUMMARY:
Accountant & HR Administrator (Johannesburg)

POSITION INFO:

Purpose:

vTo maintain the integrity of the financial accounting and bookkeeping function in accordance with sound financial practices, group policies and legislative requirements.
vTo manage and assist with the Company’s HR Policies and Procedures, HR Admin, IR, Health & Safety, Employment Equity, HR Strategic Planning and Skills Development.
vTo comply with the relevant Labour Legislation and enhance employee wellness.

Key Objective:

vTo complete the full accounting function from source documentation to balance sheet and record the day-to-day financial transactions of the business, these include purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
vResponsible for ensuring all transactions are recorded in the correct ledger and computing, classifying, and recording numerical data to keep financial records.
vPerforming allocated HR functions in an accurate, professional, ethical, timely and confidential manner.

Education: 

vGrade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification.
vAn applicable Diploma/Certificate and/or B-Comm Degree (NQF 5) in Finance/ Accounting.
vAn applicable qualification in HR will be advantageous.

 

Minimum Requirements: 

vWith degree - At least 2 years relevant working experience in a similar capacity.
vWith a diploma/certificate – At least 4 years relevant working experience in a similar capacity.
vExperience in the insurance and/or assurance industry will be advantageous.
vSound knowledge of General Accounting, Bookkeeping and Payroll principles.
vSound knowledge of relevant taxation legislation.
vKnowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
vSound knowledge of Budgeting.
vAdvanced knowledge of Excel and Pastel.
vGeneral knowledge of relevant legislations including but not limited to: Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act, Health and Safety Act, etc.
vKnowledge of Human Resource Management Processes and Administration.
vAble to handle large volumes of data in confidential manner.
vAbility to work against strict deadlines.
