ATM Technician

SUMMARY:
ATM Technician role specializes in installation, servicing, repairing, troubleshooting as well as maintenance of Physical Channel Electronic Devices such as ATMs, STMs, Bulk Depositor and Point-of-Sale Machines. The role also provides day to day technical support to ensure optimum uptime.

POSITION INFO:

High Level Objectives:

1. Commission and Decommission Physical Channel Electronic Devices:

• Coordinate installation of physical security equipment and ensure functionality and configuration of Electronic Devices functionality 

1. Responsible for daily operations and availability of Physical Channel electronic devices:

• Monitor and ensure availability of devices in the assigned region/route and Identify gaps and provide remediation, provide training on use of channel electronic devices 

1. Attend and resolve operational incidents

• Responding and attending to technical incidents, proactively follow up and resolve queries. 

1. Device inspection and maintenance.

• Ensure devices are serviced according to manufacturer prescribed standards and schedules.

Qualifications, Experience and Competencies required:

• Grade 12, Diploma in Computer Science Electronic Engineering or Equivalent IT Qualification is essential. CompTIA A+ Certification or equivalent is essential. CompTIA N+ will be an advantage.
• A valid driver’s licence is required.
• 2-3 Years’ experience in basic maintenance of electro-mechanics, which include but not limited to ATMs, STMs, Bulk Depositor and POS Machines is required.
• Experience in similar technical role in banking industry including self-service devices is required.
• Computer skills: Understanding Windows OS, installing software, networking and computer communication configuration and troubleshooting.

• Be organised and motivated and able to manage own time effectively and respond positively to different situations.
• Ability to use small hand tools such as a screwdriver, pliers, Allen wrench, grinder and power drill.
• Ability to perform Do-It-Yourself duties, like changing of light bulbs
• Jobholder will be required to operate a motor vehicle for prolonged hours when required.
• Jobholder will be required to work flexible hours such as weekends and holidays.
