SUMMARY:
Uganda - Uganda: An internationally recognized Agricultural company seeks to add 2 additional assistant cropping manger to their growing team

POSITION INFO:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Crop experience particularly in rice, quinoa, maize, chia, and moringa.
Experience dealing with food export
GMP & GAP exposure desired
Knowledge of the English language a must.
Managing a 700ha farm
Knowledge of organic farming
8-10 years hands-on farming experience
Machine/ equipment calibration

Duties including but not limited to:

Directs and coordinates worker activities, such as planting, chemical application, harvesting, grading, casual workers’ payroll, and recordkeeping
Records information, such as production, farm management practices, and prepares weekly operational reports.
Determines procedural changes in drying, grading, storage, and shipment for greater efficiency and accuracy.
Inspects fields to determine maturity dates of crops or to estimate potential crop damage from weather
Inspects farm equipment to ensure proper functioning
Hires, discharges, and transfers workers, enforces safety regulations, and interprets policies in liaison with HR Manager.
Manages the crop planting and harvesting.
Crop monitoring through field visits
Staff supervision and enforcing discipline
Prepares monthly reports on crops
Makes plans for crop weed control through manual weeding and chemical spraying
Reports to Head of Farm Operations
