SUMMARY:
AREA MANAGER - LADYSMITH
POSITION INFO:
Vacancy exist within the Production department. The position requires confident individuals who are capable of managing a production shift independently. The ideal incumbents will have to be energetic and a committed individual with broad experience in the production environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
ØActively achieve daily production targets.
Ømonitor and investigate instances of raw material and production variances against budget.
ØEnsure effective planned maintenance and breakdowns on shifts.
ØConfirms the availability of labour at the start of the shift and where necessary organize replacement labour.
ØConducts random inspections of production equipment in the department at both the start and end of shift.
ØInvestigate the causes of productivity and performance problems and take corrective action when necessary.
ØMonitor and control waste within the shift to ensure that optimum efficiencies are maintained on all machines.
ØClearly defines expectations, delegates appropriately, empowering others to manage challenges.
ØDeals effectively with diverse work styles and differing environments.
ØEnsure that all process control checks are timeously carried out by the operators, through the conducting of random checks of their process control sheet and run charts.
REQUIREMENTS:
ØGrade 12 (Matric).
ØND/B-Tech Prod Mgmt./ND/BSc/B-Tech Indust/Chem/Mech Eng. or related qualification.
Ø1 – 3 years minimum supervisory/Team-Leader/Junior Managerial Experience in Production.
ØBroad experience and knowledge of production processes in manufacturing.
ØTyre Industry experience will be an advantage.
