Job Description

We are looking for a Senior well-experienced General Restaurant Manager who resides in Pretoria. We are seeking someone with 8 to 10 years of Restaurant Management experience, a good leader who can manage a team of 50 staff well in a 160 seater busy casual fine dining style cafe restaurant that operates between 6h30 in the morning to 23h00 at night. Candidate must be well-versed in MICROS. Many of the clientele are Afrikaans so the Manager must be able to engage fluently in Afrikaans. We are seeking a hands on manager who is active on the floor and with the Customers. Strong administrative ability with stock control, stock ordering, training and management of staff, maintaining strict standards, policies and procedures. There are two very good Chefs  in the restaurant and the restaurants runs well. Good supply-chain/supplier knowledge required. Good wine service knowledge. There will be two shifts – 6 to 15h00 or 15h00 to 00h00 but senior management is expected to be present when needed. The restaurant operates 7 day per week. 1 day off per week. This role will report directly to the MD or the Organization.

Qualifications

Relevant Hospitality Qualifications will prove an advantage.

Skills

Must reside in Pretoria. Own transport. Fully Computer Literate on MICROS point of sale. Fluent in Afrikaans and English. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  8 - 10 years senior restaurant management experience. Strong Administrative Skills, Leadership skills, Floor Management. Customer-centric attitude. Meticulous with stock control, ordering of stock and cash ups.
