Job Description
We are seeking a person that has background knowledge of the following:
- Food Technology
- Retail Experience in consumer goods/Food
- Import/Export
- Business Development
Our client has a company that manufactures plant based products for various retail stores including Makro, Spar, etc. We need someone that knows the industry in getting and developing these products. Our client is planning to export to Australia, etc. and hence we need someone with some background in Import/Export.
This person will be involved in day to day management but will have to liaise with board. Mainly a Business Developer with some knowledge of having worked with new products and the launch thereof.
It does not matter whether this person has come from an environment where they have worked with food techs, or come from a Food Tech background and who has gone into Business Development, as long as they have knowledge of business development and food technology. Given that Plant-based industry is fairly new, this person would ideally come from a Retail/Marketing background. Currently the company has about 10 products but would like to expand to around 20+.
This position is available from end of August 2021
The person won’t have any subordinates at this stage but could develop a team down the line dependent on growth and expansion.
Qualifications
Relevant Qualifications will prove an advantage.
Skills
Must possess Passion and Self motivation. Must have good knowledge of Product Development (Ideally Plant based product development), how to launch these product lines in the Retail industry successfully, knowledge of import/export.
