A law firm (and 2 other small sideline businesses) located in Johannesburg North.

Job Description

 

Will work hand in hand with the Senior Director who handles the final Input, Banking and Salaries as well as the Senior Conveyancing Secretary who handles a lot of the Accounts aspects from that department. This will be an admin-intensive role assisting the finance team as a Junior Bookkeeper. The role will be assisting with the Accounts for 3 Companies, a Law Firm, A Small Estate Agency, and a Small sideline business. The firm works on manual processes and with Pastel and this role will require a good understanding of General Ledgers.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Making Journal and Cashbook entries for all receipts, payments and other financial transactions
• Filing source documents for all Journal and Cashbook entries recorded
• Posting Journal entries to Ledger accounts
• Performing Bank reconciliations
• Preparing Trial Balances
• Preparing Management Financial reports
• Performing payroll administration duties by raising Journals
• Filing Tax returns

 

 

Qualifications

Will prove an advantage but not essentia.

Skills

Good Understanding of General Ledger Accounts. Well-versed with Pastel. Must have a year or two''''s experience as a junior bookkeeper in a Law Firm.
