SUMMARY:
ADMISSION SUPERVISOR (HOSPITAL)

POSITION INFO:

Admission Supervisor

  • Reporting to the Patient Services Manager.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the Reception area as well as Pre-admissions Critical Outputs:
  • Efficient and proactive admission of all patients in accordance with Group protocol and close liaison with Care Risk and Credit Departments to minimize risk exposure to the Hospital.
  • Ensure high standard of documentation and capture of relevant information with all admissions through hands on supervision and training.
  • Maintain a high level of customer focus amongst all staff in the Department to the benefit of the Hospital, Public and Doctors.
  • Optimal staffing of all areas at all times to ensure efficiency of operation and control of labour hours.
  • Set and maintain high level of efficiency of staff through clear standards and objectives.
  • Optimal function of bed bookings through close liaison with wards and Doctor’s rooms.
  • Sound working knowledge and application of Funds relevant rules and limits

Requirements:

  • Minimum requirement of Matric
  • Self-motivated, confident and energetic individual with natural leadership ability and several years in managing people.
  • Experience in documentation and workflow processes are essential and he/she must be goal orientated and be willing to work outside normal working hours when situations require.
  • A strong customer, quality and performance focus is essential with emphasis on delivering an efficient and professional service to the Hospital and both internal and external customers via a teamwork ethic across the Reception area.
  • Knowledge and experience in IMeds / Impilo is essential.
