POSITION INFO:

JOB SUMMARY: My Client, a leading global group is in search of a suitably qualified and experienced individual to assume the above-mentioned role within their Strategic Solutions Division. The successful incumbent’s KPAs will include the following: -

Expand Health & Wellness Product Propositions

·            Support the development and assessment of new and the enhancement of existing health and wellness solutions offered to both our local and global clients

·            Develop appropriate funding models to ensure that the economics of the proposed solutions make sense

·            Assist with the development of suitable product positioning strategies and relevant marketing material to be used in marketing of these solutions (develop and conduct these presentations)

·            Develop standardised modelling approaches for projects performed on behalf of the international Group

·            Assist with the implementation of these solutions

·            Engage and support local and international colleagues as required

·            Assist with the collection and analysis of data from solutions to understand the emerging experience with the aim of improving models and enhancing solutions based on this experience

Technical Support to Strategic Solutions Team

·            Provide technical support to Strategic Solutions team members to improve service levels and satisfaction to both internal and external clients

·            Assist with interpretation and application of research required to complete product development and / or pricing exercises with the rest of the Team

·            Application and interpretation of results provided by analyses performed to provide recommendations to existing and new clients to improve their business processes and results

·            Contribute to research to present to potential new clients

·            Contribute to newsletters and publications as required

Reporting

·            Consolidate commentary and reports based on investigations performed and results obtained for the Life Management Team as required;

·            Collate information and provide input and commentary to senior management for Exco and quarterly board meetings, as required

Non-Client Entities

·            Establish relationships with global colleagues

·            Establish relationships with Regulators, Industry Associations and Consultants

·            Attend presentations and seminars

·            Assist with research in terms of the international insurance and reinsurance industries

REQUIREMENTS / CRITERIA

·            A completed Degree in Actuarial Science and good progress in Exams (completed A series exams) is a minimum requirement (Honours in Actuarial Science is preferred)

·            A minimum of 2 to 4 years experience within a life insurance or reinsurance environment

·            Working knowledge of technical requirements is a must

·            Exposure to markets outside of South Africa would be highly advantageous

·            Must have the ability to apply traditional actuarial skills in non-traditional areas

·            Must have an interest in health and wellness solutions

·            Excellent communication (verbal, written & presentation), interpersonal (relationship building), analytical and problem-solving skills are an obvious must

·            Good Project Management skills

·            Accuracy / attention to detail

·            Must be open to some travel to clients as the need arises
