JOB DESCRIPTION:

ACCOUNTANT to work remotely/from home

  1. Primary Responsibilities

 Complete work as required by various projects, including but not exclusively:

  1. Invoice customers for goods sold and/or services rendered and manage accounts receivable.
  2. Process all vendor invoices and accounts payables.
  3. Maintain the general ledger.
  4. Reconcile bank statements on a monthly basis.
  5. Reconcile inventory on a monthly basis.
  6. Record monthly journals required to finalize monthly trial balance.
  7. Prepare sales and gross receipts tax reports.
    1. Prepare monthly and/or quarterly management accounts with relevant analysis and budget comparisons.
    2. Provide real-time budget-to-actual comparisons for periodic accounts payable payment requests.
    3. Prepare periodic sales reports with relevant analysis.
    4. Review, analyze, and correct (if necessary) financial statements from previous periods.
    5. Create periodic cash flow projections.
    6. Perform inventory costings.
    7. Prepare annual budgets.
    8. Create a financial model for the existing business and/or potential new lines of business.
    9. Ensuring deadlines are met by driving the Accountants to plan and process work items timeously, focussing on clear communication prior to problems arising.
    10. Collaborate with colleagues and work effectively as a team.
    11. Able to self-manage tasks and deadlines.
    12. Able to manage upwards to achieve project goals.
    13. Provide guidance on best practice.
    14. Analyse and justify budget variances.
    15. Manage and supervise other team members effectively, continuously focusing on deadlines relative to projects.
    16. Take responsibility for own performance and provides appropriate feedback to performance manager of the team’s performance.
  1. 2.       Development & Training
    1. Ensure ongoing personal development through external training, internal training, self-learning and micro training.
    2. If applicable ensure SAICA reflective plan is prepared and submitted or SAIPA document
    3. Ensure QBO certification is achieved.
    4. Present a technical training course to the team.

         3.    Reporting

a. Weekly T-sheet review and compliance checks

b.  Weekly 15Five check in reports.

  1. 4.       Other
    1. Assist senior or other junior staff on projects if required.
    2. Ad hoc requests as needed by foreign based staff and managers.
    3. Any other reasonable instruction by any member of management that may fall out of the boundaries of the job title and scope but leads to the betterment of the company within ethical boundaries.
    4. Adhere to the policies and procedures of The Company.
