AA Quality & Project Engineer

SUMMARY:
This national manufacturing company currently seeks an AA Quality & Project Engineer, who will report to the Quality Manager. You will be responsible for monitoring the plant's activities and maintaining the product, process quality and system to the agreed standards through facilitation of improvements and audits.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required:

• Recognised qualification in Quality Management (e.g. City and Guilds; Certificate in TQM).
• National Technical Qualification (Mechanical/Industrial/Chemical Engineering National Diploma).
• Formal Training in Quality Management Principals.
• Formal Training in auditing techniques (ISO TS Internal Auditor, VDA 6.3 Auditor Process Auditor).
• Formal Training in Quality Management Principals (ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016 & VDA 6.3:2016).
• Core tools (APQP & Control Plans 2nd Ed, PFMEA 4th Ed, PPAP 4th Ed).
• Formal training in auditing techniques (e.g. ISO Internal Auditor, Process Auditor).
• Minimum 5 years’ working experience (as QA Engineer) in a Quality department, within an ISO/TS 16949 listed company.
• Must have experience in writing procedures and compiling monthly reports
• Must have experience in using root cause analyses tools.

KPA''s:

• Systems and process compliance:
• Maintain an integrated quality system structure within BRMP (Business Ricks Management Programme) management structure
• Perform audits of systems, processes and products on site to a defined audit schedule
• Continually monitor the adherence to optimum process settings and controls, targeting continual improvement
• Risk management:
• Facilitate action teams and improvement programs and continually improve on identified risks
• Create and/or update risk management related documentation (FMEA, Control plan, etc.)
• Ensure that safety, environmental and quality standards are maintained at all times through random auditing of various standards and requirements at set intervals to set formats
• Information managements and direction focusses:
• Ensure data collection and analyses of data trends and focus areas for improvement drives
• Circulate data and management reports to share information on focus areas and needs for improvement. Evaluate daily and report on the Customer Performance systems of any concerns raised.
• Control all quality-related documentation in the plant and approvals to customers. Included will be new products and projects
• Report on safety, quality and environmental risks
• Management of quality at source:
• Continually improve upon the effective use of quality tools available to assist with improvement drives on the shopfloor, at source
• Continually monitor, measure and trend the performances within the plant to highlight and reduce risks and concerns
• Business management:
• Continually measure, monitor and provide improvement plans for improving business systems efficiency and cost reduction programs at the plant
• People management:
• Co-ordinate the creation and implementation of a set of quality-related training modules for various levels of competency in quality tools and techniques for use as continual improvement tools within the plant.
• Supervise and evaluate quality staff duties and performance daily.
• Customer relations.
