An established can manufacturing company is looking for an experienced 3-Piece Can Maker to join its production team. This opportunity is ideal for a technically skilled individual with hands-on experience in the manufacture of three-piece metal cans and a strong understanding of high-speed production processes, quality standards, and equipment maintenance.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, set up, and monitor 3-piece can making machinery to achieve production targets.
- Perform machine changeovers, adjustments, and settings for different can sizes and specifications.
- Monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process and ensure compliance with customer specifications.
- Identify and resolve production faults, equipment issues, and process deviations to minimise downtime.
- Carry out routine preventative maintenance and support breakdown repairs where required.
- Ensure machines operate efficiently while maintaining optimal production output.
- Perform quality inspections and record production data accurately.
- Reduce waste, improve efficiencies, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards in accordance with 5S principles.
- Comply with all health, safety, food safety, and environmental regulations.
- Work closely with maintenance, quality, and production teams to ensure smooth plant operations.
- Participate in shift handovers and communicate production issues effectively.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Trade Test (Mechanical Fitter, Millwright, Electrician or similar) will be advantageous.
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a 3-piece can manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating and setting high-speed can making equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Understanding of quality control processes within metal packaging manufacturing.
- Ability to read technical drawings, specifications, and production documentation.
- Computer literacy.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime when required.
