SUMMARY:
Our client is recruiting for a Portfolio Coordinator for a 6 month contract, renewable depending on performance. Position based in Johannesburg Northern suburbs. 1 position available.

POSITION INFO:
Purpose:

The portfolio coordinator role is responsible for assisting the project managers and portfolio manager with all co-ordination activities related to the projects within the portfolio. Assist with co-ordination with procurement/supply chain, the PMO, vendors, resources and any other internal and external stakeholders to the projects.

Typical tasks:

  • Track project cash flow in accordance with Supply chain and PMO requirements.
  • Co-ordinate purchase orders, invoice payments between the project and supply chain.
  • Provide input to project and portfolio reporting with regards to project finance and/or progress.
  • Manage and track project invoices and vendor payments.
  • Document Management and version control in accordance with organizational governance requirements.
  • Set up and manage portfolio feedback sessions as/when required per portfolio and track attendance and apologies.
  • Follow-up and assist Project Managers and/or team members on the timely generation of project reporting and other documentation.
  • Co-ordinate and manage (in conjunction with project/portfolio managers) the process for document approval and update.
Knowledge:
Formal qualifications:
  • PMP/CAPM and/or Prince2 Certification (Preferred),
  • A minimum of 5 - 8 years of experience in similar role.
Role-specific knowledge:
  • Highly proficient in Project Management principles
  • Highly numerate, with strong financial management
  • Strong supplier & people management skills
  • Strong knowledge of document management and version tracking
  • Advantageous if you have experience in the mining industry
Safety Knowledge:
Provides a consistent outstanding role model in relation to safety practices with a deep understanding of the importance of safety

Technical skills:
Ability to:
  • Understand required portfolio outputs and how own work contributes
  • Make recommendations on how to improve required work outputs
  • Compliance with policy and work frameworks
  • Must have strong client orientation and excellent relationship skills
  • The candidate will need ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Very strong financial acumen essential
  • Previous experience with Clarizen and SAP advantageous
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office products essential
