2021_61 Junior Program Manager

SUMMARY:
Our external client is looking for a Junior Program Manager with 5 - 8 years experience in project management activities.  4 month contract with possibility of extension.

POSITION INFO:
Context:

The purpose of Global Information Management (IM) is to enable the delivery of business processes, communication, collaboration and knowledge management through the deployment, support and maintenance of enterprise technology, infrastructure, applications and mine technical systems.

Purpose:
The Junior Program Manager role is required to, assist the Portfolio Manager within the Core Systems department to manage some of the smaller portfolios. 

Typical tasks:

• Support and manage the end-to-end project plan, and monitor/report progress
• Identify risks and issues and proactively resolve/mitigate them with project teams
• Ensure that business outcomes are defined, approved, and delivered, whilst continuously monitoring progress with project teams
• Support strong governance, aligned with the overall IM governance structures as defined by the PMO team
• Provide guidance to project teams on the delivery, including scope and budget, and governance of their projects
• Communicate and provide reports regularly and effectively with portfolio and project stakeholders
• Support the portfolio manager and project teams in the overall successful delivery and governance of the portfolio

• Bachelor''s degree, or equivalent work experience (Postgraduate Preferred)
• 5 to 8 years of experience in project management activities
• Project Management Qualification (PMP preferred)
• Agile ScrumMaster qualification advantageous

• Highly proficient in Project Management principles, methods, techniques and tools
• Highly numerate, with strong financial management
• Strong supplier & people management skills
• Advantageous if you have experience in the mining industry
• the specific IM field, controls and risk mitigation
• the Region IM objectives and outputs

• understand required portfolio outputs and how own work contributes
• make recommendations on how to improve required work outputs
• problem-solve as a sequence of task steps
• comply with policy and work frameworks
• to identify and resolve exceptions and escalations
• Must have very good project planning and management skills and ability to develop and manage changes and implementations
• Must have strong client orientation and excellent relationship skills
• The candidate will need ability to prioritize and multitask
• Excellent oral/written communication skills as well as financial acumen
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Previous experience with Clarizen, SAP and Microsoft products advantageous
