Job Purpose:

Driving procedures and policies to complete the supply chain from customer enquiry through to final delivery and reinforcing relationships between internal & external stakeholders.

 

Requirements

  • Diploma in Procurement and Logistics  
  • Degree in Procurement/ Log advantageous
  • 6-8 years Procurement experience
  • Experience on SAGE Evolution
  • Experience in local and international procurement
  • Experience in ICT / Telecom Industry would be an advantage

Duties and Deliverables:

Strategic:

  • Manage and report on supplier performance.
  • Prepare inventory analysis data for Management on a bi-monthly basis or when required.
  • Ensure that adequate stock levels are maintained to service customers.
  • Inventory monitoring and reporting to both internal & external stakeholders.
  • Determine and manage minimum stock holding of fast-moving products.
  • Initiate action plans in conjunction with Sales and Services Teams to drive down aging stock and maintain low levels.
  • Manage and coordinate all product buyouts as required.
  • Maintain internal work relationships and support Sales team.
  • Maintain supplier SLAs (service level agreements) continuously.
  • Supplier pricing negotiations to be ongoing.
  • Maintain company product price book ongoing.
  • Manage & control new inventory items on the system (new item creation).
  • Manage & control existing inventory items on the system (reorder quantities, units of measure).

 

Financial:

  • Completion of new credit applications with vetting information for suppliers (BBBEE); (responsible for assessing, vetting & completion of new credit applications).
  • New Suppliers onboarding (ensure all relevant documentation is requested and supplied to finance for processing, ie: company CK docs, valid BBBEE Certificate, Proof of Banking Details).
  • Prepare and report on stock aging on a weekly basis in conjunction with Financial Manager and Product Manager & Sales Team.
  • Calculate landed costs for all imports and present for final approval.
  • Prepare and advise on freight estimations for ad hoc Customer enquiries (both imports & exports);

 

Legal/Compliance:

  • Manage supplier contracts in conjunction with Product Manager.
  • Ensure compliance to Health and Safety Act; in conjunction with SHEQ officer;
  • Operational/Departmental:
  • Performing the procurement activities for all company requirements – office, product and services;
  • Sourcing and managing various supplier relationships to maintain best pricing, service delivery and support;
  • Review and approval of purchase orders on the accounting system and ensuring the appropriate management approval is received;
  • Expediting of orders from placement up to final arrival;
  • Create and manage material requirement plan on a weekly basis to link stock and customer orders;
  • Assist Product Manager with creation of item codes and description based on relevant procedure;
  • Reporting on the outstanding supplier Purchase orders on a weekly basis (value and lead time) for cashflow and execution planning;
  • Manage and update weekly shipment tracker for imports;
  • Manage all local logistics via the warehouse in conjunction with Sales team;
  • Management and coordination of all international product imports;
  • Manage all export logistics to international customers;
  • Assist the sales department with any stock queries relating to procurement;
  • Attend weekly sales and service meetings to obtain accurate forecasts for inventory planning and bulk orders.
  • Control, maintain & process all documentation for imports and exports.

 

General:

  • Perform any ad hoc duties deemed appropriate by the Managing Director.
