Associate Attorney

SUMMARY:
My client with a Legal firm based in Rosebank is looking for an experienced Associate Attorney.

POSITION INFO:

• The main purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive and effective legal advice in the fields of financial and commercial law.
• Steer legal processes for clients on complex legal challenges and disputes
• Manage litigation (Strong litigation background essential)
• Conduct research into a wide range of commercial law, financial law and banking law matters.
• Due diligence investigations;
• Right of appearance in the High Court;
• Experience in debt collections;
• General litigation experience;
• Good working knowledge of the NCA;
• Experience with debt review;

Competencies

• 4 -5  years’ experience as a practicing attorney
• Significant experience from a leading law firm in one or all of the following environments: Banking & Finance, Corporate & Commercial
• Good drafting skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Effective communicator
• Strong relationship management skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team

Job requirements:

• Strong Academics
• LLB degree or an equivalent appropriate legal qualification (preferably an LLM)
• An admitted attorney, (ideally within a corporate or investment banking legal environment or reputable banking and finance legal practice)
• Must be able to speak English and Afrikaans
